米ニュースポータルOne News Pageによる1000人を対象にした調査によると、Googleの55%のユーザがMicrosoftの新検索エンジンBing(ビング)に乗り換える計画だという。
同調査によると、58%のユーザがGoogleは検索市場で独占しすぎと考えており、65%がBingという名前が好きで、90%がBing it (Bing(検索)する)という表現を使うだろうと回答、また55%はBingはGoogleとそれほど違わないと回答した。
Some 65% of respondents liked the name Bing, while 90% said they would use the expression ‘to bing it’ as a term for searching on the web. Bingは旅行や商品購入の意志決定に必要な情報への素早くアクセスできる、ディシジョン・エンジン(意志決定エンジン)としてのコンセプトを明確にし、Googleとの差別化を図ろうとしている。
